Warangal, Telangana, 70 year old temple priest died after being assaulted by an imam. The deceased, Devunoor Satyanarayana was the
priest at the Sai Baba temple near Pochamma Maidan junction in Warangal.
According to police, on October 26, Satyanarayana was performing pooja with the speaker turned on. A local imam, Syeed Hussain, reportedly asked him to turn off the speaker. However, as the priest refused to do so, Hussain assaulted him.
The 33-year-old Imam allegedly assaulted the priest inside the temple. Following the assault, the priest developed internal injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment the priest died at NIMS, Hyderabad while undergoing treatment.
